어린이날 - Children's Day

Today when i got home from school my youngest host brother gave me a gift, a단소 (danso). A danso is a traditional korean instrument that is like a recorder/English flute made of bamboo. It was a really nice surprise, so was also the fact that i immediately got sound out of it. I think my hard work whit the "western concert flute" in school is starting to pay of (even if as you can see in the pictures, the two instruments both looks and works "totally" different). Haha yep I'm learning to play an instrument in school even if i don't understand the teacher (actually going quite okay now).

Actually i hated the western flute in the beginning when i was unable to make any sound. Still i have hard time whit the lowest sounds on both instruments. But on the western flute it has started to slowly become better. 

Touch you maybe wanted to hear how the korean instrument sounds like when somebody who really can play on it plays. Enjoy :)

Bye and hello

It’s my last day with this family. In some minutes I will be with a new one. I have mixed feelings about the change, I’m sad but at the same time excited. I’m lucky that i won’t move far away which means same school and same friends. The fact that they are Buddhists is really interesting and I really wanna get to know the religion more because it seems really nice and I have also before thought of getting to know the religion more, but never really had the opportunity. Although this also makes me a bit sad, because i really like my church and would like to still go there. So soon my life will change, how much and in which direction i don’t know. I'm prepared of having to giving up much of what I have but still I'm excited.
