3 post 2 day & 3 pics

Wonder what they had in their food... no, thats normal in korea :)

Yay when i first red the english i didn't notice anything but when i read the Kroean "transu" i was like WHAT :D. First transgender club i ever seen, well it was in Itaewon. Im so gonna go there some day :D.

WTF*

Today i was to Dongdaemun and Itaewon whit my exchange student friend from Finland, Jaana. We was supposed to meet at 11 am in Dongdaemun and fast buy a dress to Jaanas host sister and then go somewhere ells, well that didn't happen. First i woke up at 10.50 but Jaana sms'ing that she will be a bit late [what would i be i thought]. So I hurried to make myself ready to go and i was around 12 in Dongdaemun, as you maybe should know it was raining like heaven but that didn't do much to me, except that i didn't need to pay my subway be cause the water that came in had destroyed the "T-money money taking thing" (T-money is a korean card to witch you upload money and u use it in subway, busses and taxi. and in some stores and automates you can buy stuff whit it) so i had to just walk true like the other (that made some problem when i was supposed to go out be cause the "T-money money taking thing" saw me as a cheater when it hadn't registrate me going in. but luckily a friendly man who was cleaning the floor helped me thru :) ). But yeah i was there at 12 and when did Jaana come? ye well she was there 1.30pm -.-.. haha her way that should have been a 1h ride whit the subway turned out to be a 3h way whit bus, be cause the subway didn't work at all places. anyway i had some cozy time in a small café :).
After she got the dress we went to Itaewon and now something terribly happened. In Itaewon is plates on the ground for different countries (Itaewon is like the "foreigners place in korea" the reason why im not going there so often)(it really felt like a korea-town somewhere ells) like this for korea...

BUT WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU FIND FINLAND????
TERE... TERE??? WTF is that? TERE ISNT "HELLO" IN FINNISH... ITS ESTONIAN... In Finnish its TERVE.. omg. well at least they got the capital right and not Tallinn. They probably have bonjour on the Estonian one haha. Anyway I'm gonna find out who is in charge of those plates. If you know, please let me know.

But even if it might sound like that was the worst thing that happened today its far from it. Todays rain combinated whit yesterdays have made big problems in korea. roads under the water. When i came home whit the metro and it went over the Han river i saw a lot of things floating there, things that shouldn't be there, and at the side you could only se the tops of the streetlights. And many houses has been destroyed, not speaking of cars. Mountains has made mudslides and many people have died (over 38).
East Asia is going thru much right now.

Family update

To long time, again.
Im so'm sorry for not been posting in a really long time, but  i have really been quite busy since the summer holiday started (last weeks thursday). But now i got my self in front of this crapy computer, cant wait to change it to an mac witch i just fear is to expensive to me at the time :/. Anyway its started to show age and i feel a bit sad that i some year ago sat and spoke to my friend how i haven't had any problems whit it. sad that they PC's must go bad in a few years :/ thats why my next will be an mac, everyone i spoke whit that have had them for years claim that they still work as good as news (same you cant say whit hp computers -.-).
Anyway, now you know how i feel about this screen in front of me so i can maybe go back to what i meant to tell you about.
As you know, i was in a host family for one week, and i really enjoyed it. The only downside was that i started to go to a different church as well, so i haven't seen my  friends from there in a long time, but I'm planing on going and visit them someday. Whit this one week family i saw my first 3D movie (yeah, I'm a few years after :P, haven't seen the last hp movie yet either haha), transformers III. However i had to change to another family really soon. This new one i also like, the only problem is that my host brother is moving to america next week sunday so lets see how things change after that. BUT these two last families the children has actually been talking to me, ah, no more shy guys. You know its quite frustrating when you suppose to be brother runs away and hide when your entering the living room/kitchen, witch happened all the time in my second family. But yeah i guess it will be a bit the same now when i wont have anyone more.
The new family dad is really in to showing me around so I'm happy about that. i guess it was the second sunday in this family (17th) that they took me to another church where i got to take practice giving out medicines (my h-dad is a doctor) so it was an experience. the next saturday he wanted to take me to a music and museum thing, but i was out whit my friend then :S.. and this week saturday we went hiking in the mountains, my second time in korea and i love it.

And sorry, i wrote this really fast so it become a bit... well you know, you already read it...

I have been in a family for one week, and they havent had wifi so i havent been able to update anything in this bloog :/.. Yes i could have made my way to a cafe, as i did yesterday but only had a few minutes on me. Anyway, i changed hostfamily today and these have wifi so i will try to update you abouth my happenings as soon as possible.
I tell you i had a great week, with a lovely family, even if we maybe didnt do much "special things" that could make long posts in the blog i havent been bored at any moment. They are just wonderfull and funny people. And since it was only one of my brothers and my siser who spoke english my korean has become notable better under that short time. I will tell you guys more about the plans we have whit that family later.

But now, have a nice day or as for me, a nice loong sleep in a new bed.

Flying out of the home and school?

Today when i came to school i told my teacher about the home and school exchange. To my surprise he hadn't heard of anything of this. So he maid a call to my exchange program and found out that there wasn't any school exchange at all. So I'm only changing family, not school, this Wednesday.

Lady Hauhau

Haha, I found this video today and i feel a bit embarrassed saying this but I'm quite sure this dog reaches the notes better than me. Would me quite fun to have a norebang challenge ;)

Enjoy

Lady Gaga + block.B

Today i was out whit some of my exchange student friends (Isabell, Finn and Mona). A rainy rainy day i tell you, thats of course something i likelove, but today i got a bit wet be cause it was really windy :/. So we went to Myeong-dong where we went straight away to a norebang, which is an "of course" when you are with Isabell, and we was almost going a second time but that didn't happen. I can admit that i can't sing, but i like it. And in a norebang i don't care ;). (for you who don't know, norebang is a korean karaoke room)

Lady Gaga - Born this way
When we went to a music store the first thing i thought about was that i had to buy Lady gaga's new c.d. so, well surprise i bough it (i just love her and her music). However what i didn't plan was that i was going to buy Block b's 1st mini album. I only bought it be course there was a poster that you only got when you bought the album. Now it wasn't me who wanted the poster, i hardly even know who they are, but Isabell who already has the album wanted it and she promised me paying the cd later. So i kinda got free music :) and yes they are okay, I will probably start to like their music more when i give them more time.

block.B - New Kids on the Block

And to the end of this post I will update you on my family status. I will be changing family (again) next week. And not only family but also school, so I have only 3 days left in my school now. I think I told you this before, but something I just, I wouldn't want to use the word hate but can come up whit any better one just now, is that I always get the information in the last minutes. Like now my hole life here is going to change and and got to know about it 5 days before :/. Anyway, its nice that my exchange organization hasn't told me anything about this yet. Neither seem my family in Finland got any information.
But i will do another update about the change when it actually has taken place.

In Korea you can never hide.

I have always been fascinated by Asian eyes. And now when i faintly am here i haven't been able to not take some closer looks on them. Well not only looks, we have been touching each others eyes in the class. They are much softer then western eyes, and DARK<3. I just love dark dark eyes, when its almost impossible to say where the iris ends and pupil starts.
This is the friend that gave me chills when he sat in front of me (in school) and laid back, so his head was on my desk, and looked over his head. Aah he really looked like a ghost.
Ps: If you click on the picture and zoom in his eye you can see me and where we are ;)

63 square

Some days ago while my host brother was at the Seoul Olympic Stadium, doing something i didn't really understand. My host mum took me and my other brother to the 63 square that is a 63 floor building where you can go to 63 seaworld, 63 art hall 3d movie, 63 art hall theater(not sure), 63 wax museum or as we did 63 sky art gallery (floor #60). The sky art gallery had quite many creepy paintings (i put one in the end of this message) but really interesting. you wasn't allowed to take photos of the paintings so i only took one outside the entrance. I found it quite funny that every time you came to a pic whit a fat and not so attractive guy/baby on it always red "chinese boy" or something like that in the description :s :P. Anyway it was really nice to the seoul from a different angle and I'm really looking forward to go back and take a look at the seaworld, its probably much bigger than the one in Finland, also they have penguins there x).

Hello North Korea

Yesterday, after i came home from the church (and got to know that my host dad had spent a few days in Tokyo), we went to take a look at North Korea from Odusan Observatory. The observatory was placed on the widest part of the river, what I found quite special. I mean, if people want to come and look at North Korea then why not put it closer? Well i guess they have their reasons.

North Korean soldiers Ps: not real humans.

(Click on the images to get them bigger if you want to read the text on them)
South / North
North Korean mountains don't have many trees on them cuz the people use it to warm up their houses. And near the border to South Korea the military take down some of the forests in case.. someone would run there... so they could see and stop them (mostly for the North Koreans who runs southern).

South / North
Well, I must say that my school looks much more like the North one.

South / North

Hmm.. The "foreigner only" floor didn't have any binoculars toward North Korea but only South Korea O_o'. But i sat down and listened to how the northern part of Korea had built a propaganda town on the other side of the river with houses that no one lives in, and the only time you see people there are at farming seasons and at holidays such as the great leaders birthday.
After being on the foreigner floor, which btw was totally empty except for me, my host mum and brother came and took me to the floor for koreans, which had quite a few binoculars
toward North Korea. There where even an outside place to take a look at the north from and listen and looking at slideshows of different cities in North Korea.

Here you can see that the observatory is at the widest part.

I made these pics dark so you could se something of north korea.
whit out the binoculars it was quite white and you didn't see to much when you took pictures thnx to the fog and dust.

Sorry that you can't see the houses whit my crapy camera :/

North Korean bread with read bean inside. Neihter me nor my host mom found them delicious but my host brother did, so we had to buy them. I don't remember the exact price now but when my mom told me I couldn't believe my ears :S.

North Korean house.

North Korean schoolbooks.

And children books.

North Korean classroom whit pictures of  김일성 Kim Il-Sung and his son 김정일 Kim Jong-Il .

I will try to remember that.

On the way to and back from the observatories we could see barbed wire and "guard houses" whit guardians in between the road and the Han river, which is a river in South Korea so if you would jump over the wire and swim over you would just come to South Korea.
And let us end whit the North Korean national anthem 애국가 (Aegukka)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCGoLCdcHm4

English translation:
Let morning shine on the silver and gold of this land,
Three thousand leagues packed with natural wealth.
My beautiful fatherland.
The glory of a wise people
Brought up in a culture brilliant
With a history five millennia long.
Let us devote our bodies and minds
To supporting this Korea forever.

Embracing the atmosphere of Mount Paektu,
Nest for the spirit of labour,
The firm will, bonded with truth,
Will go forth to all the world.
The country established by the will of the people,
Breasting the raging waves with soaring strength.
Let us glorify forever this Korea,
Limitlessly rich and strong.

I will see you again. Next time, maybe a bit closer ;)

Special church day whit K.Will

We had a special day in our church last sunday. And the singer 케이윌 (K.Will) visited us, singing some of his songs and telling us about his relationship whit God (as i understood it). I really enjoyed the whole day but it felt a bit weird being in the church that day because it was the first day in the church since my friend, who invited me to the church, left Korea and moved to America.
My friend 박범규(©) filmed most of it and I made a small video whit one of K.Will's song performance. (Sorry about the audio quality)

Photo club project 50 pic #1

We had as task to take 50 photos on an island. Here are my. Some of them is really bad, but it had to be 50.
